http://www.iearn.org/circles/ , www.globalclassroom.com  и т.д.

Lesson plan 1
What we are proud of. A presentation of our neighbourhood.
Activity 1: Warm-up (15 min.)
Goal: To think about and generate already-known information about our neighborhood.

  • Write the word Vladimir (or write the names of your places) on the board. Give students 1 minute to think about this topic.
  • Write three categories of topics on the board: Famous places; Historic events; Famous people.
  • Have students form 3 groups and brainstorm lists of words associated with these topics. Encourage them to think of nouns, verbs and adjectives related to this topic – for example, the Golden Gate (noun), ancient (adjective), to erect (verb).
  • After 5 minutes, ask each group to write their words on the board (if space allows), or elicit words from students and write them on the board.
  • Tell the students that they are beginning a unit on their native city that will culminate in a group project based on exploring and discovering things on their neighborhood. Tell them that as they move through the activities they are to keep in mind the concept of things and facts that make us be proud of the place we live. Encourage your students to fill in the table and share their expectations about the project:

The name of an item

What I knew

What I know

Places

Historic events

Famous people
